About me and my practice
I am a qualified Counsellor and Supervisor, registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have 20+ years experience working therapeutically with children, young people, and adults; also offering therapeutic support to parents, carers, school staff and other professionals. I have 12 years experience running supervision for individuals and groups. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework. I am registered with the I.C.O. I have a current DBS Certificate on updater service and have current Professional Indemnity Insurance.
I work mainly in a person-centred, client-led way though I have a good range of therapeutic tools which enable me to be more directive, intergrative and solution-focused when appropriate.
Experience
Over 20 years as a counsellor I have gained a lot of experience of working with a range of life challenges that people face. I have chosen not to specialise in a particular area but have worked with depression, anger management, anxiety, parenting challenges, goal focused therapy and have offered a space for people to think and talk to help them make sense of the world they live in and the challenges this brings generally.
My focus is on creating a therapeutic relationship and then a working alliance so that a safe space is created where all emotions and thoughts can be explored with the aim of finding ways to move and grow towards a healthier way of being in the world.
